Fall prevention Exercise

Balance issue among elderlies can be affected by deteriorating vision, vestibular problems and alteredsensation in the feet. General muscle weakness in the legs is also a common contributing factor of all.


For older adults, activities such as squatting, standing up from a chair and wakling may be difficult or cause them to feel unsteady, which increases their risk of falling. While it may be difficult to completely eradicate falls, lowering the risk of falls is vital to prevent severe injuries. This leads to the importance of strength and blance exercises.


The following exercises are intended for those who have a low to moderate risk of fall and are able to stand on their own without support from others.
